♥ Kitchen Aid ^_^

We went to Welshpool Business Centre Australia Post to collect a parcel, I was under the impression that we were collecting parts that NJ had ordered for his bike. When the guy at the post office brought a parcel out it was a big box. What the hell did you order? I was thinking.. Then I saw the words "Kitchen Aid" on the box. At that point NJ turned around and said "Merry Christmas" I was so happy..^_^
I have been wanting one for a while but I was too stingy to buy it because it's not exactly cheap. It was a "want" not a "need" thing.
I was so excited, the very same night I made a banana cake with it. I cant believe how quiet the mixer was. Most mixers have 3 or 4 speeds but the Kitchen Aid has 10 !!!!! and even on the 10th speed it's way more quieter than my old mixer.

Did I also mention its in my favourite colour too !!!

Miffy

Miffy is getting bigger and bigger by the day, but not big enough. Still too fast for me to catch. But still my favourite paper shredder.

Spring Rolls

The other day I was making wontons and miscalculated and ran out of wontons skins. What to do with the left over filling? Well I made the rest into spring rolls. Lucky I did cos I had a craving for spring rolls and I had them in the freezer…. Burp!!!

Things in My Garden

Basil
I planted the basil first and I got to say Basil is the slowest growing plant ever, or maybe it's just me kekek =P
Tomatoes

Hot Chilli
Last year the chillies were red abut this year they are all black for some reason but still they are some very hot chillies.
Cornflower
Didnt really know much about these flowers but they are quite cute, they have the texture of paper and only last a little while but the flowers grow back pretty fast.
Roses
I love the colours of the roses, looks pretty and smells pretty too =)

I planted these in Autumn and finally they have come up full bloom.
Its some thing nice to look forward to when walk outside to collect the mail.

Mango Pudding

Tis the season for Mangoes everywhere especially in perth, everywhere I go I see mangoes.
so why not make some mango pudding.
Here is a very simple recipe:

Mango Pudding
- 1x packet of mango jelly
- 1x can of condensed milk
- 1x mango

mix the packet of mango jelly with 250 ml of boiling water and stir until jelly crystals disolve ad 3 table spoons of condensed milk, let it cool for about 10 mins and then dice the mangoes, mix together and refrigerate until next day.

Then Bon Apetite. !!

Lightning

image taken from my phone camera.

We went to cottesloe beach to wet our feet and to catch the sunset in the late arvo. It was such a hot day, there was so many people, but the water was so nice and cool.
The sky started to get cloudy and then the sun was setting that made the whole horizon turn orangy red, in the images u can see that the clouds look like they were pulled down to the sea, and then we saw lighting.
This was my first time that I actually see the bottom of the lightning bolt. I told NJ I didnt want to leave until I got a photo of the lightning.. kekek

My boyfriend took me to Hippo Creek - Subiaco for dinner.
Hippo Creek is famous for it's 1kg steak! It was quite hard getting a booking but we got a
reservation at 8:45pm, pretty late for dinner huh?

Sorry if the photos are not clear it was taken with camera fone.

NJ ordered the "500g rump steak(rare) with chips, I ordered the "Lion Kill" which was 300g sirlion steak(med well) with ribs & mash

NJ's steak it was a very thick and juicy steak - do you see the juice: aka blood.
The food was so good, we managed to finish our food and left feeling full and satisfied.
Thumbs Up for Hippo Creek!!!

Mango Season & Miffy .

This is what I look at when I come home from work…AWWwww
OMG Miffy is so cute sometimes ..when he's not chewing every cable in the house.

Today I went to local Fruit & Veggie shop and they were selling mangoes for $2 a kg!
Yes, you heard right $2 dollars a kg was so cheap I had to buy some and also picked up a punnet of strawberries too they were 99c, they looked so re and sweet but they were a little sour for me.

Mini Apple Heart Attack !

Today I had a mini heart attack
I had accidentally slide my SD card into my CD drive in my imac.
I thought I could get it out but the more I tried the more i pushed it in and eventually I failed and it went beyond reachable.
But we found a way to get it out with out hauling my imac to the apple store
(how embarrassing the would be.)
We tipped the imac on the side and bent a bobby pin open and slowly hooked the SD card out.
We used the bobby pin because of the soft rubber tip to prevent scratching the inside of the drive. I read on apple forums that you can use a paperclip as well.

Sunday 9 October 2011

The day started out nice and sunny but by late arvo it was sprinkling down and a rainbow appeared.

RAINBOW: An optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines on to droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. It takes the form of a multicoloured arc.

Yummy Anzac Biscuits

1st time making Anzac biscuits. I burnt the 1st batch, so I had to keep a careful eye on the 2nd batch.
I have a fan forced oven so some times the temperature on the recipes do differ a lot depending on the type of oven.

Anzac Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients: 1 cup plain flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup shredded coconut
125g unsalted butter
2 tablespoon golden syrup
1 tablespoon water
1/2 teaspoon bi carb soda

1. sift flour in big bowl, add coconut, rolled oats & brown sugar.
2. melt butter in saucepan and mix in golden syrup together.
3. add water and bi carb soda.
4. mix ingredients throughly until all combined evenly.
5. preheat oven to 175C. line baking tray with baking paper.
*note; I have a fan-forced oven and the temperature I used was 150C
6. roll 1 heaped table spoon into a round ball and evenly space onto baking tray.
7. bake for 15-20 min.

Biscuits will be soft to touch but will harden when cool.
Enjoy !!!

Bee's in my garden

Went outside to do some gardening to be graced with a group of bees collecting pollen from the clover flowers invading my lawn.
After a couple of hours, my two very small flower beds are weed and grass free. Oh and to my surprise dug up some spuds as well. Now all i have to do was plant my seeds. Hopefully this time next year my garden will look much nicer.
My garden list: Cornflower, Marigold, Sugar Snap Peas, Tomato, Basil, Chilli, Carnations, Strawberry, Lavender & Aster.

Winter Wonton Soup

When I was young I always like watching my mum cook and this was one of her easy recipes.
Mum's Wonton soup is what I always a nice winter warmer and healthy too.

Fig 1

Wonton Soup.

Ingredients:
500g Pork Mince
300gPrawn meat (diced)
100g water chestnuts (diced)
1 x egg (beaten)
Wonton skins

Soup:
Soya Sauce
pepper
spring onions
Choy Sum or Bok Choy

*wonton skins come in thick or thin style. depends on your own preference.
In this recipe i used thin skins.

Lets cook !
1. mix pork mince, prawn meat, diced finely water chestnuts and beaten egg together until all combined.

2. place a square of wonton skin flat in your palm and then use a butter kniffe and lift a small ball of wonton filling into the middle of the square.

3. fold bottom corner of the square up to touch the top corner. this should make the wonton look like a triangle shape. use a teeny tiny dab of water to stick it the corners together.

4. Then start from left to right scrunch the edges in a zig zag shape till u reach the end. (** Fig 1**)

5. place the wontons in a bamboo steamer and steam for 7 minutes at a time or until meat is cooked.

6. broth/soup: boil water, place diced spring onions and a splash of soya sauce pepper to taste and place chinese veggies and wontons.

Boil for a couple of minutes and ready to eat !!!!!

NJ's Scarf…Finally

I started this scarf not long after we meet each other and it has taken me a year or so to finally finish it…why? you ask. Well just forgot about it for a while and also lazy. This is my second time in my life i have knitted a scarf. The very first  time was more than 10 years ago now and I knitted one for my best friend.
Im not very good at knitting at all and don't know the names of the stitches, but I finally pulled my socks up and said I must finish it!
